The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing budgets, and providing financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of financial principles and practices.
Key responsibilities & duties
Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement) in accordance with GAAP. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reports.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the company’s annual budget, working closely with department heads to gather input and ensure alignment with strategic goals. Prepare regular forecasts to track performance against budget and identify potential risks and opportunities.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including profitability analysis, cost analysis, and investment analysis. Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
Cash Management: Manage the company’s cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs. Monitor bank balances, reconcile bank statements, and manage accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations. Prepare and file tax returns accurately and on time. Work with external tax advisors as needed.
Internal Controls: Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Audit Management: Manage the annual audit process, working with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support.
Team Management: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems. Implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
KPI Tracking: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
Client Profitability Analysis: Analyze client profitability to identify profitable and underperforming accounts. Provide recommendations to improve client profitability.
Contract Review: Review contracts to ensure financial terms are favorable to the company.
Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and other financial tools to manage financial data and generate reports.
Stay Updated: Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a management role. Experience in the digital marketing industry is a plus.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
